We are proud to share that TOUR4EU’s Head of Office, Simona Costa, recently participated as a speaker at the event “Opportunities and Challenges for a Mediterranean #CleanHydrogenSupplyChain: The Point of View of Crucial Stakeholders.” This significant workshop witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding #MoU between the Port Network Authority of the North Tyrrhenian Sea and the Damietta Port Authority in Egypt (قطاع النقل البحرى – وزارة النقل)
Simona Costa delivered an insightful presentation on the EU-Africa Global Gateway, discussing both the challenges and opportunities this initiative offers for sustainable energy development. Her intervention highlighted the vital role of collaboration and innovation in energy supplies. We are also eager to share that Umberto Desideri, professor at the Università di Pisa, shared his insights into the technologies, challenges and maturity levels of maritipe transportation of hydrogen in the workshop.
This agreement marks a critical step towards making Piombino and Livorno key hydrogen hubs for Southern Europe, fostering enhanced energy trade and sustainability across the Mediterranean. We eagerly anticipate the results of the feasibility study, which will be presented during the European Hydrogen Week in November.

Ha guidato l’Università di Pisa in numerosi progetti di ricerca regionali, nazionali, ed Europei, ed è tra i World’s Top 2% Scientists di Stanford University e nella lista dei Top Italian Scientist.

Today, we hosted the kick-off meeting for the #FAMOS project at TOUR4EU and Regione Toscana. As part of the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership, the #FAMOS project, whose full name is Sustainable, Reliable, and Socially Acceptable Modular Floating Islands for Multi-use Offshore Spaces, aims to develop a conceptual design of modular floating islands for the creation of multifunctional sea areas in deep water and fully exposed conditions.
The day was opened with remarks by our Head of Office, Simona Costa. A heartfelt thank you to Lorenzo Cappietti, professor at the Università degli Studi di Firenze and the Coordinator of the project.
