On 8–9 September, Simona Costa, Head of Office of TOUR4EU, was invited by the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to take part in a meeting organised within the IPTICAR Twinning project, focused on strengthening the internationalisation of Algeria’s research system.
The meeting brought together universities, research institutions and EU experts to discuss new opportunities for cooperation through Horizon Europe, Interreg NEXT MED and EuroMED, fostering stronger links across the Mediterranean.

As part of the IPTICAR twinning project, which aims to strengthen the internationalisation of the research system in Algeria, Ms. Simona Costa Head of Office of Tuscan Organisation of Universities and Research for Europe (TOUR4EU) had the honor to be invited in Algiers by the Ministry of Research last 8th and 9th September 2026.
After the welcome from Ms. Samira CHADER on behalf of the Ministry of Research and Mr. @Stefano Fabiani, coordinator of IPTICAR project on behalf of Fondazione PIN – Polo di Prato dell’Università di Firenze, Simona presented to all participants from algerian universities grants offices the role of TOUR4EU in Brussels and future opportunities of collaboration within Horizon Europe programme, NEXTMED and EuroMED calls.
Prof. Giorgia Giovannetti and Prof. Debora Berti presented virtually the core missions of internationalization units and Research units within higher education institutions in Università degli Studi di Firenze.
Mr. Leonardo Manzari (WestMED Assistance Mechanism, National Hub Italy) showcased how building a more uniform and sustainable Blue Economy ecosystem.
Mr. Alessandro Calabro” (European Commission DG RTD) gave an overview on EU-Mediterranean cooperation in R&D: The New Pact for the Mediterranean.
The event concluded with an open and highly productive Q&A session bringing together international relations managers from various Ministère l’Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche Scientifique MESRS institutions, the IPTICAR project coordinators, and the European Commission experts.

I corsi in presenza integrano la preparazione agli esami DITALS BASE, DITALS I livello e DITALS II livello e sono incentrati sui temi oggetto delle prove di esame. La frequenza dei corsi soddisfa inoltre il prerequisito della formazione glottodidattica richiesto per l’ammissione agli esami DITALS I e II livello.
I corsi in presenza sono articolati in lezioni frontali, laboratori e simulazioni di esame guidate da formatori DITALS.
